Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire...was a very intense and an awesome movie!

Today my friend Elvira and I decided to go and see the movie Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire. Usually I don't follow or agree with reviews and never decide to watch a movie based on reviews. However there were two aspects that peaked my interest about this movie which was the story line and then the limited release. Moni'que (Queen of Comedy) played the envious mother and she played that roll very well. She captivated every aspect of "Mary" and brought her to life. Mariah Carey who plays the social worker was unrecognizable in this movie. As Mariah has been criticized for her roles in previous flicks she definitely brought her skill to the table. Lenny Kravitz played the role of a nurses assistant, and it was my first time seeing him on a big screen. At times I just wanted ask Lenny to just leave the nurses uniform and do what he does best, sing! The young lady that impressed me the most was Gabourey 'Gabby' Sidibe who played the role of Precious. Her  talent captured my heart, brought tears to my eyes and left a whole sold out show crying in tears. She is an amazing actress that should be nominated for her  role in this film. As this movie was very high in explicit content, it was definitely worth every minute.  I give this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I agree! The movie was very moving and had my heart in knots! The actors did a great job, esp "Precious", Mariah, and Monique.
