A couple of days ago I had signed up for a 20 minute personal training session at my gym, New York Sport's Club. Today I met with my trainer Laura at 1.30 PM. She was energetic, spunky and very friendly. I thought to my self this will be fun as I followed her to the personal training area. She asked me if I had any injuries, problems or illnesses she should be aware of. I told her about problems with my arm and then we started. The warm up was nothing out of the ordinary. There was jogging, high kicks and more jogging. She gave me weights and we started air boxing, basically doing boxing movements without hitting a target. The reps were short and fast and I started to feel like I could do it until she had my doing sit-ups with dumbbells. I started to feel light headed and woozy. I felt like a cartoon, who just got hi over her head and there were birds flying over my head. I was trying focus my vision but the room kept spinning. She finally gave me a break and I sat down and drank a gallon of water. This 20 minute workout felt like 2 hours. However at the end of the day I felt great, as I slept for five hours after my workout. I don't know if I will have an other session with her anytime soon, but she really managed to kick my butt.
