Yesterday we went to The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park. The freezing cold weather had us fidgeting down to our toes as Randy decided we should have some hot apple cider. Our first stop in the park was Big Apple Cider. We ordered two hot apple ciders with cinnamon sticks and as we were about to pay, the vendor asked us where we were from. Randy said he is from good old Queens and told the vendor that I was from Sweden. The vendor told me that if I had a Swedish ID, I would win a gift certificate of $25. So I immediately started digging through my wallet, to find my Swedish ID. Once I showed it, I received a map of the park with a list of all participating vendors, where I could shop with my gift certificate. I took my certificate and started wandering through the park to see which store attracted me the most. My final choice was Soapcreek Company. They make natural handmade soap and bath products. The smell in this store was amazingly fresh. You felt clean just by entering the store. I happily showed my gift certificate and the lady at the store started to tell me all about their soaps and bath products. I decided on three final soaps, Island Citrus, Carrot Honey and Rosemary Mint. When I got home, I tested all three out to see which one I would like the most. They all smelled wonderful and made my skin silky soft. However the one that stood out to me was the Carrot Honey. I loved the soothing smell of the soap and the texture. All in all I was very happy and excited with my winnings, since I rarely win anything. I love my soaps and will definitely buy more of their products.
The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park will be open seven days a week, till early January. So if you haven't had the chance to go, you still have time. And are you looking for unique Christmas gifts for friends and family, this is a great place to shop.
